About Marty Vanderlip - George
Strait, Ronnie Milsap, Billy Joel Tribute Artist: Not very many people are blessed with musical talent at a very early age; however, at the mere age of 6, Marty discovered his love for music. Every time the opportunity would arise, you could find this young child singing in front of the mirror. His love for music continued to grow, by singing in church many times a week. Compelled to sing gospel, Marty extended his genre to include Country, Pop, R&B and Oldies. Through his teenage years and into adulthood, Marty continued to sing in churches, for weddings and benefit concerts.
It wasn’t until he brought his talents to his job, that his co-workers recognized what a real talent Marty possessed.With the support and following of his co-workers and family members, Marty just smiles and keeps on singing. A hunger developed inside Marty that would give him a yearning to pursue his singing. Soon he found himself auditioning for contests and competitions. In March of 2007, Marty auditioned for the "Gimme the Mike Charlotte" talent competition, which is sponsored yearly by WSOC-TV Channel 9, in Charlotte, NC. He finished in the top 20 out of 500 contestants. He then went on to compete in one of the five groups of four, and won his round. The winner of each round competed for the title, and Marty won that title by a landslide, with many of his fans in the following. This opened many doors for Marty. He found himself in the spotlight making appearances at radio stations talking about his experiences, and enjoying the beginning of many great things to come. Most recently, in September of 2008, Marty performed on-stage with members of the Grand Ole Opry, in Sparta, North Carolina, with overwhelming acceptance. Marty is truly gifted in that he can sing any genre of music. He is a one-man show and a very humble tribute artist that never ceases to amaze the audience. He captures their attention and the audience becomes star-struck with the intensity he puts into each song.
